Each year The NWA Black History Showcase honors members of the community with Community Enhancement Awards.The Awards are giving to an individual that has demonstrated dedication, leadership and commitment to the advancement, promotion and development of the cultural, educational, social, economic or political welfare of the African-American and the overall community of NWA.

AWARD CRITERIA
Community Enhancement Awards: Woman of the Year Man of the Year Youth of the Year & Business and Economic Development Award (Deadline: January 20, 2012)
NWABHS AWARD: WOMAN & MAN Individuals must: (During the year)
•Have demonstrated dedication, leadership and commitment to the advancement, promotion and development of the cultural, educational, social, economic or political welfare of the African-American and the overall community of NWA.;
•Be at least 26 years of age;
•Be a resident of NWA;
•Be of African Heritage
NWABHS AWARD: YOUTH
Individuals must: (During the year)
•Have demonstrated leadership ability in the community, school or college as it relates to the development of the cultural,social and/or political welfare of the African-American and the overall community of NWA;
•Be a High School Senior;
•Must be a resident of NWA;
•Be of African Heritage
NWABHS AWARD: COMMUNITY BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AWARD
Individuals must: (During the year)
•Have provided significant contributions to the African-American community in the area of economic development;
•Have the African-American community as a target population for its services or specific project;
•Have African-Americans in upper levels of management and/or on Board of Directors;
•Individuals or Organizations of any Race, Color or Creed who serve the African-American and the overall community of NWA.
